Visit with Carmel Police and Fire Department. Tour a Fire truck.

Proceeds to benefit the CPOA.

Swimming Pool Closed on August 2nd

The swimming pool will be closed Monday, August 2nd from 5pm to 7pm.

Key Fob Distribution

Pool Doors will be continuously locked effective this Saturday at noon. After that you will be required to use your key fobs to gain access. If your dues are paid your current key fob should work. To receive a key fob or ensure your current key fob is working, stop by the pool this Friday from 6 to 8 pm or Saturday 10 to noon. We expect to discover some problems so please be patient during this process and we will sort it out.

Early Pool Opening

This year the pool will be opening early on Thursday, May 27th and Friday, May 28th from 12-5pm. More details to follow.

Swim Lessons

Indianapolis Pool Management will be offering swim lessons again this year at our pool. The instructors who taught last year at our pool will teach this year as well.

They will offer group lessons, semi-private, and private lessons. group lessons are taught Monday through Thursday for the first week and Monday and Tuesday for the second consecutive week to allow for makeup days in case of bad weather. Payment is due upon registration and can be made out to IPM. Registration can be done at the pool with the lifeguards. The teaching ratio is a maximum of 6-1. For beginning swimmers they try to have a ratio of 4-1. The smallest group they will do is 3 children.

Group Lessons:

Each session is $55 per child.
Each session will last for six lessons.
Each lesson will have three swimmers or more.

Semi-Private Lessons:

Each lesson is $13 per child per ½ hour.
Parent chooses how many lessons are taught.
Each lesson will have two swimmers only.

Private Lessons:

Each lesson is $15 per half hour.
Parent chooses how many lessons are taught.
Each lesson will have one swimmer only.

Group Lesson Schedule:

June 7th – 15th
June 21st – 29th
July 5th – 13th
July 19th – 27th

New CPOA Board

The election committee would like to announce the new board of directors. Due to the number of candidates, all three were appointed to the board as follows:

Tim Starkey – President (one year term)
Tim Rusnak – Vice President (two year term)
David Cutsinger – Treasurer (three year term)

Neighborhood Garage Sale

It is that time of year again to gather up all your old stuff and get ready for the Claybourne Neighborhood Garage Sale. This year’s neighborhood garage sale will be Friday June 4th through Saturday June 5th from 8am to 1 pm. Please place balloons on your mail box if you are participating. We need help placing signs and balloons around the entrances/intersections. If you are able to help or have any questions, please contact info@claybourne.org.

2010 CPOA Election

Claybourne Property Owners Association is currently seeking to fill all three Board of Directors’ positions. Due to two current board members resigning early from their term, these two vacant positions will be appointed by the current board of directors before their resignation becomes effective on May 1^st. The first appointee will serve a one year term. The second appointee will serve for two years. Additionally, one member will be elected by the community through the election process to fill the expired position for a three year term. Please review the Code of By-Laws located on web site for descriptions and duties of directors. The newly elected board of directors will decide amongst themselves which officer position they will fulfill. Other positions such a secretary and treasurer will be appointed by the new board for one year.

All candidates must submit their name along with a brief summary to the nomination committee no later then 5 pm on April 9, 2010. All candidates must be in good standing with the CPOA. Each candidate will be required to complete a Candidate Questionnaire posted here for members to view. The Board of Directors will appoint the two vacant positions by April 13^th. Ballots will be mailed on April 16^th for the expired position and returned no later than April 29^th at 5 pm. The election results will be posted after April 30^th. The first board meeting will occur on or before May 10^th.

Carmel or Westfield Address

Beginning April 1, we will be receiving postcards asking if we would like our address to read Carmel instead of Westfield. It is imperative that these get filled out and returned. The postal service has decided to work with Carmel and Westfield residents on this matter. If the majority rules that the Westfield address is changed to Carmel, then we will finally have a Carmel address…except we will still have Westfield zip code. So please keep an eye out for these cards and return them!
