Rick Sharp doesn't answer his emails. Does anyone know of a better way to contact him or to get a three way stop implemented at Caswell and Dolan Way?

I just played the mp3 player to listen to the last POA meeting and it was cut off. Is there anyway I can listen some more of the meeting. Also is there a way I can retrieve the expense sheet. I miss the last meeting. I really appreciate it.

I just found out you can contact our councilman Rick Sharp with any concerns.

rsharp@carmel.in.gov
He has attended some of our annual meetings. My wife has been in contact with him and he seems to be aware of the speeding situation and plans to have more of a cop presence in the neighborhood.

The pole lights are out at the Dolay Way entry again. Why that problem still cannot be solved is amazing. What an ugly view arriving home last night in the dark with the new shoddily done road patches and no pole lights.

The medians gave a classy look to the street. They gave Claybourne a character that custom-built home neighborhoods have. Now, the nearby vinyl siding neighborhoods look better than ours. The medians need replaced to restore the look we paid for in a neighborhood.

A little gold Nissan went east on Dolan Way at 7:27 a.m. doing about 45 MPH. The start of what is to come......there goes the neighborhood.

It is time to look at management companies. Our previous neighborhood was very happy with R.L. Management out of Zionsville. Our pool was always perfect and the lights were always on. Our meetings always went well and we got things done for the better of the neighborhood. What can it hurt to get a few estimates?

I agree completely with all comments, Chris, Rob, Ling, Nick and Jerilyn. We need notification of meetings and communication about what is going on as well as an arena for ideas and discussion. Afterall, the neighborhood belongs to all of us.

We live at the "T" of Caswell and Dolan Way with a 4 year old. We don't let him play in the front yard and certainly will not let him ride a bike in front of the house when he is old enough. I do see many children playing on the corner across the street and I cringe when I see cars speeding through.

Stop signs are a great idea for both safety and appearance which are top priorities for residents. The landscaped medians made Claybourne special, but since they've already been marked for distruction we should try to limit the effect of their removal i.e. opportunity for speeding.

Nick made a comment about some speeding cars that seem to go to the same house. That can be reported directly to the POA for sending a letter to those residents. Nonresidents that short-cut or drive through Dolan Way are those that I have observed speeding. When traffic is backed up at 131st and Shelbourne, we are their "side street" detour to 131st westbound. I nearly get rear-ended on the way to work. Stop signs would definitely deter these speeders.

Let's start a process to discuss the option of adding two stop signs. Three-way stops are common in subdivisions I have lived in. POA: When is our next meeting for bringing this to the table for discussion?

I think we should at least take bids from a few management companies at the next annual meeting. I brought this up to Bryan Kelly, CPOA President, and he quickly dismissed the idea as to expensive. I think if he actually entertained the idea he would be surprised at how inexpensive it is. With a professional management company I truly believe that our operational costs would be lower, problems with the pool company would never have happened, and they would be better able to keep the members informed. I don't see anything wrong with at least getting bids. I just think a company would be better able to get situations like the pool or common area problems resolved that is our volunteer board.

I understand both the reason to remove the medians and the need for some other means to control speeding since I live on Dolan Way with little kids. I don't like the idea of speed bumps either, they're just bad for cars. I would recommend at least one stop sign where Antonia Blvd. intersects with Dolan to start with (the signs can actually be placed in common space so not to impact anyones yard). Then possibly more stop signs at Caswell or Salamone if speeding continues to be an issue. Will people actually stop, no, but it will slow them at the mid point of Dolan speedway at least.

I also hear a general theme here that homeowners want more information and more input on the neighborhood and I agree. More update/neighborhood status meetings or an open invite to a committee meeting. But remember folks, if you want to complain be ready to do something about it and join a committee or be quiet.

Lastly on the input theme... Where did the plants/trees in the medians go? It would have been nice to either transplant them somewhere else in the neighborhood or at least offered up to homeowners if they were simply dug out and discarded by the landscapers. Again, I have no idea what happened so I can only guess.
